Imperfect Promise, Perfect God

Hey Ladies,

Today’s post is going to be a little different because I have quite a few things to get off my chest. First things first, I want to say that this year has pushed me so far out of my comfort zone. It has been such a long, crazy road to get to a point where I can actually share what’s been weighing heavy on my heart. 

Wrestling with the Promise When I first encountered the promise, as I stood at the open door, face to face with my calling, I never could have imagined that this is where God would bring me. I can admit that I underestimated the cost of what this new level would expect of me. I went from feeling fully confident in my identity to feeling uncertain of the road ahead. I went from feeling comfortable… to being consistently uncomfortable.

This is the reality of what many don’t talk about — the truth that walking into your promise doesn’t mean the road will be easy. In fact, sometimes the road to the promise will challenge everything you thought you knew about yourself and about God. Yet, that doesn't mean the promise isn't coming to pass.

Planted On Purpose (Even with No Visible Fruit)

I knew I was called to pour into these young people, but trying to reach them felt few and far between. I struggled heavily with falling behind, being reprimanded, talked down on, excluded and ignored even when my concerns were valid. I spent the last few months, asking God why would he had placed me somewhere I couldn’t even measure the result of my own impact. It was as if in the midst of all my mess-ups and mistakes, I began to lose sight of what was really important. It wasn’t the applause or the validation of my bosses or the relationships that were being built that made my purpose clear. It wasn’t because of those things that kept me coming back again and again.

I choose to come back because I remember the word that my God gave me. I choose to get up each day regardless of how I feel in hopes that my impact would be felt that day. I choose to get up because I recognize that God has placed me in this position for such a time as this. God needs you to be diligent and work to be worthy of His calling of your life.

Luke 16:10 NIV says this:

”Whoever can be trusted with very little, can be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with little, will also be dishonest with much.”

Colossians 3:17 CSB reads,

“And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do EVERYTHING in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.“

It even goes further in Colossians 3:23, stating:

"Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Jesus Christ."

God Is Still Good. The Promise Is Still Unfolding.

If you needed to hear this today: Your calling may not look “picture perfect” but ultimately it is perfect for you. Your calling may not be what you would have chosen, but you can choose to work the assignment placed before you. What feels like a small feat in a bigger cause is just what God is calling you to focus on in this season. You are in preparation for your next level.

As this post comes to an end, I want to remind you to use this time as a stepping stone into the calling God has specifically handpicked for you. I pray that you use this time to learn about who you are and continue to lean on God for the strength you need to make it through each day. His Grace is still sufficient! His Mercy is never-ending! He is our defender! He is still carrying us to the end.
